Processing of personal data

For what purpose and on what basis does Horizon process personal data?

Horizon Flevoland processes your data for the following purposes:

  1. Storing personal data in our CRM system
  2. Sending our newsletter, if you have indicated that you wish to receive it
  3. Sending invitations for meetings or events that we think you might find interesting, organized by Horizon, or in which Horizon is involved.
  4. To inform you in the future about current activities in which Horizon is involved that may be of interest to you.
  5. To enhance personalized mailings and invitations, based on your preferences and areas of interest (Innovation, Internationalization, Investment), appropriate to the Horizon agenda. We also use your information to further align our event programming and service delivery.

On what bases are personal data processed?
Horizon processes your personal data:

  • On the basis of the data subject’s consent to the processing of his or her personal data for sending the newsletter, sending invitations or for answering a question, complaint or other type of communication

  • Because this is necessary for the performance of an agreement to which you are a party
  • Because this is necessary for the representation of the legitimate interests of Horizon. This consists of Horizon’s concrete interest in being able to deal with questions, complaints or other types of communication at your request, Horizon’s practical interest in being able to organize an event or Horizon’s interest in being able to carry out and optimize our services.

If personal data is processed on the basis of consent, this consent may be withdrawn at any time.

Horizon describes below which processing of personal data takes place under its responsibility. We will always handle your data with care. Horizon will store your personal data carefully (digitally) and protect it with the necessary security measures. Your personal data will not be resold.

Processes relating to other business processes

By this way, we also inform you about a number of processing of personal data that relate to other business processes within the ROM. We have included this information in this (public) privacy policy because we refer to this information, for example, in our order confirmation.

Sending emails about own similar services or meetings
Existing network members are informed on a regular basis by email about our services or meetings. On the basis of the law (in particular the General Data Protection Regulation in connection with Article 11.7 paragraph 3 of the Telecommunications Act) it is permitted to send existing relations statements about our own similar products or services without permission. At the bottom of the relevant emails you will find a link through which you can easily unsubscribe yourself from all communications from the ROM.

Pictures and video of events
Horizon regularly organizes events and meetings. It is possible that photos will be taken during these events. It is possible that Horizon publishes these photographs, for example in a newsletter or other type of communication. Horizon will communicate this at the time of the event and ask whether there are any objections to this possible publication. If possible, any objection will be anticipated immediately by not showing the person in question or not showing them in a recognizable manner.

The legal basis of these processing operations is that these data processing operations are necessary for the fulfillment of our legitimate interest. In return for organizing and being able to attend the event, we consider it reasonable and justified for the above processing to take place. This is so that we can substantiate that Horizon is actively investing in its customers and relations.

Please note that you can exercise your right to object at any time, including prior to the time we publish photographs. Horizon will comply with this without delay and will not publish a photograph in which you are depicted. The right of objection is also discussed later in this privacy policy.
