Horizon, the regional development agency for Flevoland, has joined the Agrofoodcluster as the newest partner. This step is intended to strengthen and make official the long-standing connection between both organizations.
“Horizon Flevoland and the Agrofoodcluster already cooperate in a number of areas and we anticipate that our intensified cooperation offers more opportunities for local businesses: both members of the Agrofoodcluster and non-members. Together we can achieve more both domestically and abroad,” according to Aalex Jansen, Projectmanager Foreign Direct Investments with Horizon.
Counting Horizon, there are now 38 partners in the Agrofoodcluster, forming a solid public & private partnership of organizations focused on arable farming.
Agrofoodcluster director Cor van Veldhuijsen is happy with the expansion to include Horizon Flevoland. “Our cooperation with Horizon allows us to provide our core themes such as knowledge, the link between education and employers and international presence a boost. This is a good step forward for the further development of arable farming in the region and strengthens our position on a national level.”
One of the areas where the two parties are already cooperating is Potato Europe, an international exhibition that will take place on 1 & 2 September in Lelystad.
