On Thursday 9 September Horizon Flevoland had the chance to host the first physical gathering of Invest in Holland colleagues in more than 1.5 years.  Around 100 people gathered in Almere, next to the site where the final touches are being put to the Floriade exhibition 2022, for the Invest in Holland Knowledge College followed by a social evening.

After an interesting and engaging discussion on Intercultural Communication, the guests were welcomed by director of Horizon Flevoland Marco Smit, director of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency Hilde van der Meer and City Councilor for Economic Affairs for the city of Almere Maaike Veeningen.

The location in the youngest and fastest-growing city in the Netherlands, Almere, helped to highlight the opportunities Flevoland has to offer both national and international investors with a focus on sustainable food production, the circular economy and innovative logistical solutions.

In 2022 the Floriade will be held in Almere, a world-renowned horticultural exhibition held every ten years at a location in the Netherlands. The theme for 2022 is “Growing Green Cities” and Horizon Flevoland looks forward to working with the many stakeholders to further promote what makes Flevoland unique.

Everyone had a good time and on behalf of everyone at Horizon Flevoland we were thrilled to welcome so many great colleagues in our region and are looking forward to the next gathering.
