‘Enercon is one of the leading companies in the wind energy industry and I am therefore very proud and pleased that Enercon has chosen to locate their new training center right here in Emmeloord, in Flevoland’.
With these words deputy governor Chris Jansen officially opened the new international training center of Enercon in Emmeloord. Enercon is a German manufacturer of wind turbines and employs around 220 FTE, of which 110 engineers, in the Netherlands whom have all received training on site in Emmeloord.
As the province responsible for more than 20% of the Dutch wind energy, and with a windmill filled landscape, it is the place to be for a training center concerning the repair and maintenance of wind turbines. Regional development agency Horizon Flevoland is proud to have supported Enercon in their search for a new location, as their training center is a great asset to our ecosystem.
The energy transition is one of the biggest challenges we face, and we need innovative companies such as Enercon to help us make this transition. Enercon is the 2nd largest manufacturer of wind turbines on-land in the Benelux, and Enercon will train staff from all around the world in its new technical center here in Flevoland. This training center will contribute to the fulfillment of the Human Capital Agenda objectives of the province of Flevoland by the retention of high-quality jobs in our province.
